dear congress, aint nobody got time for that.

its been a week since congress failed to pass a deal to expanded background checks on gun purchases and i'm still infuriated by it. i mean really?! are republican senators that in bed with the nra that they can't pass a bill in the best interest of the american people over possible campaign donations for their reelection? what good is it for them to get reelected if they can't make the right choices? its ridiculous and as sweet brown would so eloquently say 'aint nobody got time for that.'

we need to start protecting our children from actual weapons
that would literally kill them. 

i understand that america's have a constitutional right to bear arms, its written in our bill of rights and rightfully so american's hold onto those rights with a deathly grip. we have a right to free speech, but we can't yell 'fire' in a crowded room if there isn't a fire because it would cause too much commotion and possible end up harming people. a 'limitation' was put on our free speech because its in the best interest of the general public. yet no one throws a tantrum over it because its for the greater good. expanded background checks is the same thing, its for the greater good of the general public.  the deal to expand background checks isn't infringing on our second amendment, its making sure that the general public is safer than before. its making sure that gun owners know how to properly use this essentially deadly weapon that could kill a mass number of innocent people.

here's the best way that i can explain it. a car is two tons of force that if not driven properly could cause deadly accidents. so because of that not everyone is allowed to drive without a few tests; its what is best for the general public because we don't want a maniac on the road. in order to be able to legally drive one has to pass a written exam, practice driving with a permit, and then take their behind the wheel test. once they pass and the dmv inspector deems that they know the driving laws and can adequately handle a car, then one is given their license. this is the same approach that should be taken with guns. it doesn't outlaw anyone from driving its just takes precautions to ensure that one is capable, and the same should be done with guns.

so dear congress, you don't work for the nra or any other special interest that helps you financially during election season, you work for the american people; with taxes they pay your paycheck. their vote elects you. so work for them. make decisions that is best for them. make decisions that will protect and keep the american people safe. because to be frankly honest ain't nobody got time for your shit.
