"hide your tattoo, put on your sunday best/ pretend you're not a mess, be the happy family in the front pew/ hush, hush, don't you dare say a word/ hush don't you know the truth hurts/ hush, hush, when push comes to shove it's best to keep it hush, hush"
this is my family in 4 minutes. i come from a pretty traditional mexican family with many divides among the older generation born in mexico and the american born first generation. but this is the case for may families across the country and world regardless of ethnicity or background. in my family in particular you're always supposed to say your fine no matter what. stay hush hush about family matters that may bring some sort of shame to the family. so my cousin has to wear long sleeves when its 100 degrees outside so my grandparents don't see his sleeve tattoos. and everyone has to pretend their life isn't a complete mess when we get together. but ironically when we're all together and chatting away our lives don't seem like a giant mess. we forget about our worries and just be. so i guess it is best to keep hush hush.

i'd love to hear some new tunes that remind you of your family, cause truth be told they'll fit my family too.
